Yep. Its about time we started working on the next PodcasterCon. Do you want to help? Please contact me at info (at) podcastercon (dot) org.
My vision for the next event is even more hands on media making education. So if you have ideas for sessions put them in the comments.
A wide range of help is needed. From serious time commitment, to ideas, to session moderation, to designing training, etc.

The PodcasterCon budget has always been public. I’ve made estimates the best I can and we’ve worked hard to stick to them. Here is the original budget estimate on the wiki. The original budget estimate was $2,791.24. PodcasterCon actually cost $2,440.95. As of today we’ve raised $3,165 — $860 from 25 individuals and $2,305 from four organizations. The majority of the organizational donations was from Cache Networks. That leaves us with $724.05 in the bank.
All of the remaining funds have been put in a savings account to help pay for the next PodcasterCon. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you, donors! Thank you, participants! We made PodcasterCon happen together!

In an effort to stop spam on the PodCon wiki I’ve protected a bunch of pages. This means only the administrator (me) can edit them. You can still make and edit some pages on the wiki. If you want to add stuff to any of the protected wiki pages for legitemate reasons (like adding more session notes) just send me an email or simply login. If you want to edit and don’t already have a username and password, please go make one for yourself on the wiki. If anyone has other suggestions on how to make the wiki more spam free and allow editing by all users let me know. I’m still learning about the MediaWiki software.

Mark Welker made a cool video about PodcasterCon 2006. It has a bunch of interviews with participants, media folks, teens, session leaders, podcasters, educators, etc. It’s a great document of the people at the event. If I’m correct he shot it with a small still digital camera that shoots video too. (A cheap and excellent quality way to make media.) The video is released under a Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial License. Thanks Mark!

Hugh Bracket of illudium.com recorded audio of the Open Session on Videoblogging. It’s undedited and in the Public Domain. If you have the time we’d appreciate some help cleaning this audio up. (I bet you could get higher quality files if you wanted them.) More session audio and video to come.
